Clare Shaw is a poet who has also had wide experience as a trainer, designing and delivering courses for public organisations in criminal justice, mental health, education and community services. Her work is engaging and dynamic, and she is both passionate about engaging staff with the task of writing and committed to equipping writers at all stages of development to realise their full potential. Clare has been an RLF Fellow at the University of Huddersfield and is a regular tutor and mentor for literary organisations including the Poetry School, the Wordsworth Trust and the Arvon Foundation. She is the author of three poetry collections, Straight Ahead, Head On, and most recently Flood (2018), and a range of mental health resources including Otis Doesn’t Scratch, a unique storybook resource for children who live with self-injury.
