Mavis Cheek is a novelist, short story writer and journalist. She has run writing workshops for the Arvon Foundation, HM Prison Service, charities and other organisations in the UK and abroad. She has taught good writing as a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Reading and Chichester Universities. Her workshops aim to help participants express their ideas clearly and engagingly both on the page and in social media. She is the author of fifteen novels and has contributed to many short story collections. Her journalism focuses on current affairs and travel.
