Thank you for creating and delivering a brilliant day.
The variety of activities was really useful in helping to assess different elements of the keynote/pitch copy. Caroline was perfectly placed to deliver the course, as someone who sees publisher TI sheets virtually every day.
I’m very grateful to Heather for delivering a highly professional and creative workshop to some of our practitioners. I enjoyed the range of activities which both inspired and challenged the practitioners. […] The workshop not only had a direct impact on the practitioners writing skills/confidence but it also gave them new ideas to take into schools as they work with teachers to develop new approaches to teaching and learning. I firmly believe that there is scope to facilitate further sessions like this and as the popularity of the course shows, there is also an appetite amongst the arts community for this kind of professional development.
Feedback from attendees was really positive. We already have an improved newsletter circulated and some letters have been drafted for me that are a step above what I think might have been done before.
You have been a breath of fresh air. I can see that the team have really responded to your innate knowledge and instinct for the field that they work in, and have felt fired up and invigorated about your challenge and response to the situations they have presented you with.
Kerry and Jane delivered a well thought out plan of work with our service and their engagement with our service was excellent throughout. We are hugely indebted to them and the innovative work they undertook with us.
Meg came in to help with a marketing campaign we were running and her assistance was invaluable. In today’s information-laden world you need to be able to grab people, be resolutely clear in your first message and then to hold their attention. Working with Meg you will quickly find this is an art form that makes a huge difference to the connection you make with your customers, something every business needs to do effectively.
Practical, interactive and engaging. A really good session given the large number of people, the spread of time zones involved and the short time constraints.
I think this will prove highly beneficial… The session covered appropriate and relevant material for Maplecroft writers and it was particularly useful to have examples of content from our own reports within the exercises, to make the learning points directly applicable to the analysts.
Jeremy’s writing workshop was really valuable, particularly because we used real examples from our collection. It was great to have the time to analyse our copy carefully – looking for brevity, meaning and originality. Jeremy was really approachable, allowed us space for questions and also some hearty discussion about current challenges writing for different online audiences. I left feeling inspired!
I found the session extremely useful. Delivered in a lively and engaging way, it had us all thinking about simple, practical and everyday things we could do to improve the way we write.
I thought it was a well-structured, well-paced workshop which combined some lively and useful exercises.
We all really enjoyed the whole morning, especially the exercises around how to convey something in just a few words. Having the audit and the training session forced us to take another look at all the writing we do, and looking at everything afresh has helped us to refine all of our letters and charity literature.
The Writing Project ran a fantastic workshop for us, exploring our use of writing in social media and blog posts. Babs gave us a great insight into the world of words, helping us to understand the best way to communicate with our audience. She highlighted the importance of approaching our writing from the perspective of those who benefit from our opportunities, so that we could tap into what they would respond to.
